Piod Pinc lose out at Cilfynydd

The Piod Pinc made the long journey to Pontypridd to take on fellow Division 3 side Cilfynydd in this preseason friendly. The match, which was played out in four quarters of 20 minutes started well for Tumble and they went into the first break with the score tided at 0-0. Unfortunately with a bare 15 players injuries started to take their tole on the Tumble side and they finally leaked four tries which in no way reflected the effort, commitment and skill shown by the girls. There were a number of good personal performances from the Piod Pinc with a special mention going to the outstanding and dynamic Hannah Stephens who made a number of powerful breaks. The evolution of the side from last season is obvious with the team now having a far greater understanding of the game, if only a full squad can be put out on a Sunday then surely that elusive first win can't be far away. Tumble were rewarded for their continued endeavor with the last score of the game when full back Sophie Pick used her pace to score wide out in the corner. Next Sunday Tumble welcome Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd to Parc y Mynydd Mawr in another friendly, come and support the girls (kick off 2.30pm).
