The Piod Pinc racked up their biggest ever winning score when they ran in eight tries at Parc y Mynydd Mawr to beat visiting Nantymoel Ladies 50-5 in Women's National League Division 3. Despite having to make a number of personnel changes due to injury and unavailability the girls played some outstanding running rugby and went into the break 19-0 up thanks to tries from wing Kristen Field and a brace from full back Sophie Pick. Stand in captain Hannah Stephens added two conversions.
The second half saw Tumble move up a gear and really cut loose. Within five minutes of the restart number 8 Stephens had powered over for a try and from then they came thick and fast from Karen Mayze, Keely Evans, Field and finally on the stroke of full time outside half Darcy Hardy. Stephens added 2 conversions with replacement centre Mayze also converting one to complete the scoring. This victory was another step up in the progression of this team with numbers 1 to 22 playing well and contributing towards earning the 5 points.
The win moves Tumble up into second position on 15 points, 3 behind leaders Morriston Ladies and 4 ahead of both Deri and Cilfynydd. Next week the Piod Pinc make the short journey to undefeated Pontarddulais Ladies in what will be a difficult and challenging encounter. Come and support the girls, kick off 2.30pm.
