The Piod Pinc made the semi-finals of the Women's National Bowl competition after a resounding 34-10 win against COBRA RFC Ladies at Parc y Mynydd Mawr in this quarter final fixture. After a tight and competitive first half the girls went into the break 12-10 ahead thanks to tries from wing Sophie Pick and full back Jess Thomas. Outside half Kirsten Field added one conversion to give Tumble a slender lead.
The second half saw the Piod Pinc come to the fore with COBRA struggling to contain the pacy Tumble back three of Thomas, Pick and youngster Nicole Davies, plus some powerful forward runners with captain Hannah Stephens again leading by example. Tumble scored four second half tries through Pick, replacement centre Darcy Hardy and Thomas who went over twice to complete her hatrick. Field slotted over another conversion to round off a great result for the girls. Tumble now wait until the draw for the semi-finals where they could face Deri, Morriston or the unknown quantity of Taffs Well RFC, tie to be played on Sunday, 13 May.
The girls are back in action on Friday night when they travel to Pontarddulais RFC Ladies for their last league fixture of the season. Kick-off is at 7pm, come down and support the Piod Pinc.
