The Senior squad travelled to Loughor RFC on Thursday night for their final pre-season friendly before the commencement of the league campaign next weekend at Llandybie. A full bodied and niggly game saw a young Magpies squad narrowly lose 22-21 to their Division 2 opponents. Tumble scored three tries through wings Dean Beamish and Dafydd Thomas while experienced number 8 Nathan Willard went over with the last play of the game. Full back and acting captain Steven Hewitt landed three conversions to complete the scoring. It was pleasing to see a number of youngsters showing up prominently in the game including wing Dafydd Thomas, centre KIan O'Riley and forwards Elis Vaughan, Tom Samuel, Ben Strelly and Dion James. Unfortunately there were also a few injuries during the game and we wish a speedy recovery to all the players who took knocks including Scott Jones and James Stephens.
