After 16 months of no rugby thanks to COVID-19 it finally seems that we can look forward to some community sport. The calendar year 2022 is the 125th anniversary of our Tumble Rugby Football Club so we aim to organise a number of celebratory fixtures and events spread over the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, watch this space for forthcoming announcements.
The 1st XV return under the captaincy of Steffan Price, who is supported by vice-captains Richard Davies and Steven Rees. After a healthy 21-7 friendly win away at Llandeilo RFC a couple of weeks back the 1st XV travel to Cwmgors RFC on Saturday, 14 August in their first fixture in the WRU Bowl competition. With good numbers having been in training over the summer we hope to have a successful season.
The Piod Pinc are again captained by Tina Thomas and secured a fine 29-48 win away against Dowlais Women a few weeks back in their first fixture of the new season. The Youth who have lost a number of players due to the controversial decision to make youth rugby under 18s only are captained by Celt Llywelyn Jones. Celt is assisted by vice-captain Dafydd Thomas. Finally, we hope 2021-22 will see the return of our Development XV who have been entered in the Scarlets Llanelli & District league.
We can't wait to see you all back at Parc y Mynydd Mawr.
