The Young Magpies flew into their opening league fixture away at New Dock Stars with an interception try from wing Gruff Weston in the opening minutes. The game then slowed down as the two teams exchanged scoring opportunities with Tumble another try through Weston that was converted by outside half Jude John. A third try, this time scored by fullback Dafydd Thomas and again converted by John saw the Magpies lead 10-19 at half time.

The second half saw three further tries from replacement Harrison Griffiths and a brace from wing Kian O'Reilly. Jude John added a conversion with Griffiths completing the scoring with a couple more conversions. This was a great effort by a Magpies side that had been soundly beaten by New Dock Stars only a couple of months ago at Parc y Mynydd Mawr. Great to see numbers in the squad growing and such a committed display.

Man of the Match: Sion Yip. A fantastic defensive effort from the young centre who had featured for the Scarlets East Under 17 team in mid week.
