The Youth travelled to Llanelli on Saturday afternoon to face New Dock Stars RFC. With the opposition only having 13 players the Magpies were forced to drop two players from their starting team and play 13 a side which seemed to disrupt them more than their hosts. A late call up to the 1^st XV for influential back Morgan Davies further disrupted preparation for the game but Rhydian Davies stepped in and controlled well from scrum half. Tumble’s forwards were dominant in attack throughout the game and this was a massive positive but the negative was controlling the ball from the restarts. The Magpies’ lack of commitment at the restarts let New Dock back into the game after each score and eventually allowed the game to slip away from their grasp. The team need to work hard to put this aspect of their game right before the next match.
