What a game, what a battle, what a performance again from this young Tumble team. Llandeilo came into this game undefeated and after a number of convincing wins. Pressure from Llandeilo was relentless for most of the game and they started with a try and conversion within four minutes. Tumble however didn't let it deter them and returned the pressure on their opponents which resulted in them being awarded a penalty kick. A well taken attempt by Lewis Moore, who moved to centre for first time this season saw the Magpies take a 3-0 lead. This got the boys pumped up and recycling the ball well. Over 16 phases of play resulted in hard working flanker Rhys Jones getting over the try line. The whole team kept up the pressure and Tumble's backline powered into their opposite numbers. Captain Kieran Jones, having his best game in Tumble Jersey to date fronted up with Lewis Moore always in support. Before the end of first half it was typically strong forward play that was finished off by prop Ashley Evans using his strength to power over the whitewash. At Halftime the Magpies found themselves 15-7 up and few words from coaching team were needed other than to control field position.
Second half pressure saw both sides excerting pressure on their opponents and special mention must be given to Tumble's back row for their tackle count, putting their bodies on the line time after time. The leadership of captain Kieran Jones and pack leader Rhys Tobias came to the fore and was backed up by every member of the squad. Llandeilo to their credit also were never out of the game and with a large squad of well drilled players kept themselves in the game throughout and with a try in the 60th minute mark made for nervous last 10 minutes for both teams. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be again for Tumble Youth and the game was won by two points by league leaders Llandeilo. The end of game team debrief by the coaching team was listened by all the Magpies team exhausted as everyone of them had left every ounce of energy on the park. The coaches had asked this squad for an extra 5% from previous performances and they gave more and nothing else can be asked for. "This squad deserves a 'W' more than any team I've coached" were the words of head coach Selwyn Morgan and these were reiterated by the rest of the coaching team.
