The Magpies overcame a dogged Llantwit Major RFC side 28-19 at Parc y Mynydd Mawr to progress into the last 16 of the SWALEC Bowl for the first time. Playing in heavy conditions and against an equally heavy opposition pack the Magpies went into half time with a tight 18-11 lead. The second half saw Tumble gain more territorial advantage and the Magpies had taken a 28-14 lead with 2 minutes left to play before the Blood and Blacks of Llantwit Major scored a last minute consolation try to make the final score 28-19. Tumble's tries were scored through full back James Owens, wing Nicky Allinson, wing Ifan Davies and prop Dafydd Humphreys. The boot of centre Leighton McKenna added two penalties and a conversion.
