A young and inexperienced Magpies side travelled to league leaders Penclawdd RFC on Saturday afternoon in Divison 2 West. With a number of the more experienced players in the squad missing through injury and unavailability this was always going to be a tough game and so it proved with the Magpies going down 71-14. After finding themselves 47-0 down at half time the boys showed great resolve to lead the first 20 minutes of the second half 14-7 through tries from wing Aled Price and number 8 Nathan Willard. Conversions being added by Morgan Davies and Owain Williams. Unfortunately Penclawdd brought fresh legs onto the park and further scores saw them run away with the score. The boys now have a week off before regrouping for their final two game, both home against Burry Port and St Clears respectively. Lets hope we can put in some determined performances, similar to last week against Carmarthen Athletic to finish the season off on a positive.
