The Piod Pinc made the long trip east to Taffs Well RFC Ladies on Sunday afternoon in Phase 2 of the Women’s National League Division 2. In what was a physical and hard-fought game the girls found themselves 20 - 5 down in the first half after making a slow start against their powerful opponents. At this point it was make or break for Tumble and the girls showed fantastic spirt and commitment to fight their way back into the game and take the lead 20 -29. A try for Taffs Well saw them four points behind and camped on the Tumble try line with the girls defending well to keep their bigger opponents out, unfortunately the try for the home side came and it secured a win by the narrowest of margins, 30-29. Tumble’s points came through tries from captain and centre Tina Thomas, scrum-half Whitney Hardy, number 8 Amy Jones and a brace for outside half Darcy Hardy. Whitney Hardy completed the scoring with two conversions.
With a free Sunday next weekend next up is Morriston RFC Ladies at home on Sunday, 3 February (kick-off 2.30pm).
