The Magpies welcomed the title chasing Scarlets of Pembroke RFC to Parc y Mynydd Mawr in Division 2 West. Unfortunately for everyone of a Tumble persuasion the result went with the form book as third placed Pembroke RFC powered their way to a 3-36 win against a young Magpies side. The first half saw the Magpies hold their own against their powerful opponents and went into the break only 3-12 down with the home points coming from a Steffan Price penalty. The second half saw the Scarlets utilise their powerful forwards and an experienced bench to pull away on the scoreboard and secure a final score of 3-36. Again, plenty of spirit was shown by the boys who took the field but with a number of more experienced forwards unavailable it was always going to be a tough day at the office.
Next Saturday the boys are back on the road and make the short journey to old rivals Pontarddulais RFC. Kick-off is at 2.30pm.
