Exciting development at Parc Y Mynydd Mawr

As a club we're pleased to announce that over the last six months, Tumble RFC has been working closely with the Clerk of Llannon Community Council and Tumble United AFC to explore the potential of developing additional modern changing and training facilities within Parc Y Mynydd Mawr for rugby, football and community usage. Currently running 12 sides and co-hosting the Merched Mynydd Mawr girls rugby hub its absolutely critical that Tumble RFC develops modern and adequately sized facilities to cope with the number of sides we run, to cater equally for male/female usage and to ensure our future sustainability and growth.

As a club Tumble RFC successfully applied for grant funding through the Sustainable Communities Fund from Carmarthenshire County Council to employ the services of a consultant to project manage feasibility in order to develop additional changing facilities. The grant also included the fees for architect designs and relevant surveys required by the local planning authority. A number of meetings have taken place over recent months with representatives from various sporting bodies, community stakeholders and grant awarding bodies relevant to aquiring the funding needed for the construction of the facility.

The project is now at the design stage and if successful will comprise of an extension to the exisiting football / Cwtch pavilion to include four new changing rooms (with showers and toilets) for rugby and football use; medical treatment room; office space; additional communal space to house the community supermarket and warm space; a dedicated space for Tumble Family Centre and public toilets.

Once the project has had its costs estimated, our consultant will work with the Clerk of Llannon Community Council  to source external funding and prepare the final project plan to be presented to the Council for discussion. We have already had positive discussions with prospective grant awarding bodies and it is hoped that once this facility has been developed additional external funding could be sort for the construction of an all-weather training facility.

We need your support to ensure we deliver this critical community facility, so please like, share and leave comments.
